Song Me This is operated by Benbetter AI, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company. The site is songmethis.com. When these terms say “we,” “I,” or “Song Me This,” they mean Benbetter AI, LLC.

These terms cover everyone who uses the site: someone buying a song, someone invited to add a story, and anyone who opens a private song page.

You agree to these terms when you tap a button that says so, tick a box next to them, or complete payment on a checkout page that collects that agreement. A footer link by itself is not the agreement — the button is.

You have to be 18 or older to buy a song. You have to be 13 or older to add a story. If you are under 13, please don’t. If a parent tells us a child under 13 added a story, we delete it.

The service is intended for people in the United States. Payment is in US dollars.

You are commissioning a custom song. You answer a few questions about who it is for and what happened. You can invite other people to add their side. I read all of it, write the lyrics — with AI help, finished by me — and produce a few genuinely different versions of the music. You pick the one you want. You get a private page with the audio, and you can download it.

The music is generated by a third-party AI music service. I will never pretend otherwise, and I will not invent a fake artist name for the voice. The lyrics are written with AI help and finished by a human. That is the honest sentence, and it is the one I will stand behind.

An AI music service can produce similar music for someone else. I cannot promise your song is one of a kind, and I cannot promise that copyright exists in the recording. What I can promise is in what you can do with it.

As of this version:

• One song — $49.
• Three songs (an EP) — $129.
• Ten songs (an album) — $399.
• 24-hour rush on a song — $29 extra.

Extra songs on an EP or album are songs left, not store credit and not a gift card. They are counted in songs, never in dollars. They do not expire. They are not redeemable for cash except where the law requires it. A song is used when you pick the version you want, not when you start answering questions. If you abandon a song halfway, it stays unused.

If you have songs left and you don’t want them, email hello@songmethis.com and I will refund the unused ones at what you paid for them. If Song Me This ever stops operating, unused songs are refunded the same way, and I will write to the email on the account.

A standard song is delivered within three days of a complete paid order. Rush is 24 hours. I never hold a finished standard song back to make rush look faster. If it is done in four hours, it ships in four hours.

The clock starts when payment lands and the required answers are in. If I miss a rush deadline, the rush fee is refunded at a minimum.

If it’s not right, I’ll rewrite it. If the rewrite still isn’t right, I’ll refund you.

That is the whole policy. The longer version lives on the refund page, and this section is the contract version of it.

A correction fixes something that is wrong — a name, a date, a spelling, a pronunciation. Corrections are free, unlimited, and they never expire.

A rewrite changes something that is accurate but not what you hoped for. One rewrite is included per song, with no clock on it.

You do not have to take the rewrite first. If you want your money back, say so and I will refund you. A refund is the full amount you paid for that song, including a rush fee if you paid one. On an EP or album, a refund is for the unused or returned song at the per-song price you paid, not the whole purchase unless you ask for that.

You keep the song after a refund. I will not try to claw back a file. The licence in these terms survives the refund. Your promises about the people you named survive it too.

I can decline any song, for any reason or no reason, and refund you. I am the person writing it; authors decline.

These I will not make, and I will not take payment for them:

• Anything sexual involving a minor — depicted, implied, or ambiguous.
• Sexual content that depicts non-consent or abuse, approvingly or as the point.
• Threats, or a song aimed at harming, scaring, or intimidating a real identifiable person.
• Instructions or encouragement toward violence.
• A statement of fact that would defame a named real person.
• Hate content aimed at a protected class.

Suggestive or sensual romantic songs between consenting adults are allowed. Sexually explicit songs are not — in part because the tools I use to make the music and take payment will not allow them.

Heavy songs are the product, not a problem. A song about someone lost to an overdose, a suicide, or a hard year is a song I will make. If you tell me you are in crisis yourself, I will not cancel the order. I will show you crisis resources and write back as a person. I am not a crisis service and I am not giving clinical advice.

When you start a song, you are telling me:

• These are your people and this is your story to tell. You have standing to name the people in it.
• Any adult you name is someone whose permission you have, or whose story is yours to share.
• If you name anyone under 18, you are their parent or guardian, or you have permission from one.
• What you send is not copied from someone else’s copyrighted work, and it is not a false statement of fact meant to damage a named person.

I take you at your word. I do not audit your family. If someone named in the song asks me to take it down, I will — see taking something down.

Someone you know is making a song and asked for your side. You do not need an account. One story is enough.

By sending a story you agree that:

• Song Me This and the person who invited you may use what you wrote to make, deliver, and support that song — including editing it into lyrics.
• The first name you type may appear in the credits on the private song page.
• You are 13 or older, this is your story to tell, and you are not pasting someone else’s copyrighted words.
• You are not an author or co-author of the finished song, and you will not claim a copyright interest in it. Facts and memories are not copyrightable; this sentence is here in case a line of yours survives into the lyric almost word for word.

That permission is only for making this song. It is not permission to put your story on the public website or in an ad. That takes a separate, specific yes.

Changed your mind? Email hello@songmethis.com or use the takedown page. A story that has not been used yet comes out. A song already delivered may not be fully recallable, but I will still take the page down on request.

You are welcome to say who it sounds like in your head. That is often the only vocabulary a non-musician has, and it helps. Artist names are used only as a private note about genre and mood. They never reach the music generator, they never appear on the song page or the lyric card, and I will not imitate a real person’s voice or a recognizable vocal signature.

No named artist is affiliated with, sponsors, or endorses the song. Please don’t present it as if they do. A request to imitate a specific artist, living or dead, I will decline.

I keep whatever rights exist in the lyrics and the recording. You get a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence for personal, family, and private use. You cannot transfer that licence. You do not need to ask before doing the things on the “yes” list.

Yes

• Listen, download, keep, and back it up, forever.
• Play it at a private event — a wedding, a birthday, a funeral, a reunion — including one where a DJ or a venue is paid.
• Share the private link or the file with friends and family.
• Post it to personal, non-monetized social media, including as the audio under a personal video or slideshow.
• Print the lyrics.

Not without a separate written yes

• Any commercial or promotional use — ads, a business account, a podcast, a paid production, a nonprofit campaign.
• Uploading it to Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, or any store.
• Monetized content of any kind, including a monetized YouTube channel.
• Registering the song with a performing-rights organization, or claiming it in YouTube Content ID or any fingerprinting system.
• Resale, sublicensing, sampling it into another work, or using it to train an AI system.
• Removing or altering any watermark or metadata on the file.

I am not telling you that you “own” the song. Under current US law, music generated by AI usually cannot be copyrighted by anyone. I am not holding back a right I could give you. I am not going to sell you a promise the law will not keep.

You give Song Me This a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence — sublicensable so I can send material to the services that help write and produce the song — to use what you submit solely to create, deliver, correct, rewrite, and support the song, and to keep the records that requires.

That licence is not permission to put the song on songmethis.com, on social media, or in an ad. Publishing a customer’s song is my publication, not yours, and it needs a separate, specific, written yes from the people named in it — and from a parent or guardian if a minor is named. That yes is revocable.

If you are the buyer, or you are a real person named in a song, you can ask me to take it down. I will, no questions asked. I am aiming for 72 hours and I will not take longer than 30 days.

Use the takedown page or email hello@songmethis.com. You do not need an account. You do not need to explain why.

Copyright complaints are a different path — see copyright complaints. Do not send those to the takedown form if you are a rights holder making a formal notice; send them as described there so the statutory process can run.

If you believe material on this site infringes your copyright, email hello@songmethis.com with “Copyright notice” in the subject and include: your contact details, a description of the work, where the material is (a URL helps), a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized, a statement under penalty of perjury that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act, and your physical or electronic signature.

I will remove or disable access to the material when a complete notice lands, and I will tell the person who posted it. They may send a counter-notice. Repeat infringement is grounds for refusing future service.

A designated DMCA agent will be registered with the US Copyright Office. Until that filing is live, the same email is the right address.

How I handle personal information — including stories about other people, and the health information that often shows up in those stories — is in the Privacy Policy and the consumer health data notice. Stories are processed by named third-party services so I can write and produce the song. I do not use your stories to train a model of my own.

Follow-up suggestions you see while answering questions may be written by an AI system. The lyrics are drafted with AI help and finished by me. The music is generated by an AI music service. I read every story myself. A machine does not ship a song without a person in the middle.

The service is provided as-is. I disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement, to the extent the law allows.

I specifically do not warrant:

• that the recording is protected by copyright;
• that the song is unique, or that no similar song exists;
• that the song is fit for any commercial use;
• that the person it is about will like it.

If I am liable to you, that liability is limited to the amount you paid for the affected song. I am not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for emotional-distress damages, to the extent the law allows.

This limit does not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, or anything a consumer-protection statute will not let me limit.

If someone makes a claim against Song Me This because you broke the promises in what you promise when you buy, or because of how you used the song in public, you will cover the losses that come from that breach. I handle my own defense. You cooperate. This does not cover claims that come from my own writing choices, my marketing, or my negligence.

This section survives a refund.

Write to hello@songmethis.com first, with your name, the song or purchase, and what you want. Give me 30 days to make it right before you file anything. Most things that go wrong here are a rewrite or a refund, and those should not need a court.

You may take a claim to small-claims court. You and I both waive a class action and a jury trial, to the extent the law allows.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Formal proceedings take place in Delaware, except for small claims in your own county.

A claim under these terms has to be brought within one year of when it arose, where that limit is enforceable.

I may change these terms. Changes apply going forward. The version in force when you bought unused songs is the version that governs those songs. A material change gets an email to the address on the account, with the date it takes effect.

The version stamp at the top of this page is the identifier. Older text lives in the public git history of this site.

I can decline or cancel a song and refund you. I can also stop serving someone who is abusive. Unused songs are refunded, not taken.

If the music service I use goes down, changes its rules, or closes my access, I may delay a song or refund it. That is the remedy — not damages.

Clicks and checkboxes are electronic signatures. You agree to receive records about your song by email. You can ask for a paper copy.

I may assign this agreement to a successor. Your unused songs go with it. You may not assign your licence or your unused songs without my yes.

If one sentence here is unenforceable, the rest stays. A failure to enforce a sentence is not a waiver. These terms, plus the privacy and refund pages they point to, are the whole agreement for the service. Headings are for reading, not for narrowing a sentence.
